Premarital Counseling: A Journey to discovery.

During premarital counseling, the couple is in a time and place where they can find out how much they are similar to each other and where they are different. And–can they bridge the gap where they are opposites. This is the time to find out, before they Marry. As their Pastor or counselor facilitates the counseling sessions the couple has time to learn more about each other. The counselor will help them explore and look at areas of their lives they have taken for granted–that should be examined.     
Christy and Tom scheduled a premarital counseling session with me. They are both 22 years old, college graduates, and from middle income families. Tom is impatient, introverted, and a perfectionist. Christy is patient, outgoing, and untidy with her room. Tom keeps his room very neat and clean. They are Baptists and attend the same church.
